It's good to see you in my rear view. Although we had some amazing highs, bringing Zebdios home being the most amazing, 2012 was a tough year. There were lots of lessons and battles and coming out of this year, I feel beaten and bruised.
I normally post a list of resolutions, but this year I decided to resolve to One Little Word.
I did what anylazy normal person would do and I read what others were doing and figured I'd find one of their words that would work for me too.
Re-Purpose
Soar
Brave
Open
Joy
Grateful
Fearless
I picked Re-Purpose, because a lot of the things on my list are going to be re purposed. But as I was meditating on Re-Purpose, I realized that isn't quite right. And this word popped into my head.
This was more accurate, the things that I want to accomplish this year are restorative. I will be taking a month to focus on each item that I want to restore. This is not to say that once the month is over, my work will be done. It's just that work will play out in the background as I focus on the new month.
Starting in January will be my health. Once a week, you'll get a check-in with my weight (OMG...can't believe I'm going to publicly post my weight), my blood pressure, blood sugar levels and anything else that may be pertinent.
I don't focus enough on my health, I eat whatever is convenient or fast and I consume so much garbage. It is killing my body and I've had enough. It's time to make changes. I won't be dieting. I've dieted before, the weight comes off and then bad habits creep back in. This is about making real changes that I can stick to long term.
I wave goodbye to 2012 gladly and welcome what 2013 has to bring for me.

What a great idea-I love this!
